Korean Wave

                Korean wave is a trend which is attributed to Korean’s culture such as wearing Korean’s style and singing or imitating Korean music. It has spread rapidly especially in our country. In this era, the virus  of Korean wave increases rapidly in certain Asian countries, such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, and the Philippines. We can see that there are many young people participate at this trend.  Most of Indonesian young people participate at it. It means that almost of Indonesian young people prefer Korean’s style than other styles. We can find Korean fans everywhere. There are some causes make us fall into the Korean wave.

            The good-looking actor/actress can be its main cause of Korean wave . As we know that all of Korean actors/actress have a good-looking performance. They used to wear a glamourous clothes and a cool hair style . All of them are handsome(actors) and beautiful(actress) but the Korean actors used to look girlish. However, almost of them do plastic surgery because they think it is the only way to be a popular person. We can see now that there are many Indonesian young people wear clothes which is like as Korean’s style and they also like to imitate Korean’s hair style. For the one loving it fanatically will do plastic surgery to look as same as Korean actors.    

            Korean music is also the cause of Korean wave. Girl band and boy band are the group band of Korea which are popular in the world. The music is always a kind of music beat.  The most popular trait of Korean music is singing with dancing. Its genre is well-known as K-pop. We can find many girl/boy bands which choose this genre in Indonesia. It is becoming the most popular genre in Indonesia. It even can  displace other genres.

            Korean movie also needs to be considered as the cause of Korean wave. It consists of a serial drama and a cinema. Most of Korean movies are drama movie. It is sometimes about love and friendship. The story line is truly good and It can influence the audiences to engage with story line. It always have some touching scenes. Although it is an action movie, it also have it which can cause our tears flow. It even can make us addicted on it.  

            Those are the causes of Korean wave. We can easily find it from many sources such as from television, internet, and other social medias. Those all can make us addicted to consume it more and more. Therefore, we will fall into the Korean wave.
